“It would be cool, I know it’s another expense for the team, but other than that, it would be a step backwards – not just our racing suits, but casual wear, to team hats to get it right – that would be It’s cool for everyone to get involved, ”Ricciardo was quoted by RACER as saying.
Norris endorsed his teammate’s idea, cheekily adding that the Monaco GP livery plans would be mixed up if they crashed on the first lap themselves.
“The real old schools would be pretty great!
“I think it’s nice that we’re the only ones who do that. Keep more eyes on us unless we both crash on Turn 1. When things get a little more exciting for a race, it would be cool to see everyone do that.
“Especially if you have a Williams or a Ferrari – I mean Ferrari would just be red! – Lots of teams have had great and unique liveries over the years and it would be cool if everyone could come up with their own. “
In addition to the retro overhauls, Norris will drive in a special helmet design with the golf colors. Ricciardo, meanwhile, will also go retro, with his helmet celebrating McLaren’s history.
