Lando Norris has been in top form since the beginning of the 2021 season. The McLaren driver has scored points in every race this season and hoped to win even more at the Hungarian GP. However, this was not intended as his crash with Valtteri Bottas put a lot of strain on his MCL35M, which left him out of the race.

But this incident earned the 21-year-old a strange record in Formula 1. Norris has recited every eleventh race on the F1 calendar since 2019. It started with the German GP, then the Eifel GP in 2020 and now the Hungarian GP this season.

The Briton was the last to start at the German Grand Prix because he had used more aggregates than allotted. It didn’t get any better for Norris, however, because after 25 laps at the Hockenheimring, the McLaren driver had to call it a day.
In his second season in Formula 1, the young McLaren driver hoped to influence the starting grid. He started the Eifel GP in eighth place and wanted to collect some points for the Woking team. But it shouldn’t be again, because after 42 laps he had to give up.

Norris hoped to break the eleventh race curse at the Hungaroring last weekend. He found himself in sixth place when the lights went out. But just as he was going into the first corner, Bottas ambushed him. Within seconds, Norris met Max Verstappen’s Red Bull.
The 21-year-old was unable to take part in the restart after the red flag because his McLaren was badly damaged. The team from Woking went home empty-handed when Daniel Ricciardo crossed the finish line in the eleventh race with no points.

Lando brought his A game to 2021
The McLaren driver has scored three podiums and points in all but one race this season. Norris would hope to place the Hungarian GP and come back stronger for the Belgian Grand Prix after the summer break at Spa.

Norris is in third place in the drivers’ standings with 113 points. Hoping to score even more points as the season progresses, he would like to give Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, the title contenders, a fight for their money.
