We’ve seen our fair share of private car collections that would make any gearhead drool. For example, the Dezerland Park Automotive Museum in Orlando houses a unique 22 billion-dollar collection of cars of all eras.
The collection in Seen Through Glass’ latest video upload has many next-level cars such as McLaren F1 GTR and Ford GT40s all donning the famous Gulf Livery. The popular YouTuber visits one of the most impressive private car collections in the UK, Duncan Hamilton ROFGO.
Schumacher’s Mercedes
Sam Michael David Fane, our host, is at the famous Duncan Hamilton ROFGO in Micheldever, Winchester in the UK. The first car we see is a 1990 Mercedes-Benz C11 driven by none other than the great Michael Schumacher before his F1 days.
Sam tells us that people often forget that Michael drove endurance races before his big break into the F1 world. People also forget that Michael raced with Mercedes and hence why he made his return to F1, and Mercedes, in 2009. He tells us the car looks stunning donning the Mercedes silver racing color and is such an amazing piece to be in the presence of .

Although there are many cars in the shop (which are all for sale), a few stick out more than the others in terms of history and rarity. One of these is the 1989 Jaguar XJR11 endurance race car still in its iconic purple and white Silk Cut livery.
This car was the Mercedes C11’s main rival in the early 1990s. They were head-to-head in the championship, so seeing them together is incredibly special. He tells us that the driver of the number 4 Jag was, racing legend, Andy Wallace.
The Not For Sale Gulf Collection

The ROFGO side of the building is not for sale according to Sam. As soon as we see the room, we understand why. The collection of over 25 cars is all famous Gulf Livery cars. Of course, the livery is famous for the Ford GT40, which heroically won the 1966 Le Mans.
Since then, a whole range of cars race with the iconic livery. The video includes the likes of the more famous Gulf cars such as the McLaren F1 GTR and Aston Martin DBR9 GT1. The collection also includes some more peculiar designs such as a Gulf-inspired Lamborghini Tractor and the Howmet, which houses a helicopter turbine engine.
Sam tells us this car raced at Le Mans. He says the car had a lot of brake failure because since it had no engine braking, the car would continue thrusting forward even after letting off the accelerator. An interesting design in an already very interesting collection.
