For many, Michael Schumacher is the reason why they fell in love with Formula 1; and McLaren’s team boss, Andreas Seidl, is no different, because he too was lured into the sport by the world champion.

Seidl remembers how Schumacher made him addicted to Formula 1
In an episode of the In the Fast Lane podcast, he was asked if he was a Schumi fan. He replied: “I am definitely a Michael Schumacher child. 92 ′ I started to really look at Formula 1 with Michael in detail.

“Starting to be in Formula 1, to be so successful that I started to analyze the free training sessions at home with all the technology that was available at the time.
“Watching timesheets and when at some point the desire simply grew to become part of Formula 1, I had the dream of becoming an engineer in Formula 1 and making my contribution.
“I still remember that I always had this dream to start as an engineer in Monaco one day. It actually happened for the first time, which was a special moment for me, ”concluded Seidl.

Andreas had the chance to meet the man who fell in love with the sport
Many of us dream of meeting our idols, and Seidl fulfilled his wish when he met Schumacher. He remembers how the interaction went and began to feel nervous and need to act cool.

He said, “Definitely Michael [Schumacher] He was the reason I started following Formula One. I still remember the first time we sat together at dinner. I had to play cool, as if that was something normal for me, I wasn’t very cool. “
Now being a part of McLaren, he will certainly aim to do well and bring great success to his team, just like his idol with Ferrari. Seidl’s next agenda is to ensure that the team collects maximum points from Silverstone this weekend and progresses in the team standings.
