“I would like to conclude this experience with a good result for myself and the team and also enjoy this weekend with my family and friends, who will be accompanying me to say goodbye to Formula 1.”

Teammate Antonio Giovinazzi will also contest his last Formula 1 race – at least for the time being – on the Yas Marina Circuit ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Giovinazzi only got his second top ten result of 2021 last weekend in Saudi Arabia, where he finished ninth, and he wants to underpin that result with another place in the points in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
“After such a good race in Jeddah, I am approaching Abu Dhabi full of confidence,” said Giovinazzi. “I wanted a result like this before the end of the season, to show what I can do, to show that I have not given up and will continue to fight for the checkered flag; Now I want another strong race to end my three years with the team well.
“I owe it to all of those who believe in me and continue to support me, and I owe it to myself to end the season with the result I know I can deliver. It’s going to be an interesting weekend and I’m ready for it. “
