Daniel Ricciardo seemed to have found his groove at the Styrian Grand Prix and set the second fastest time in FP2. In the qualifying rounds themselves, however, things quickly collapsed as he managed to secure a low 13th place on the grid.

And on race day it got worse and worse for the Australian; he did not improve and crossed the finish line in P13 due to a drive problem.
After the race, Ricciardo took to Instagram to show that he is optimistic and looking forward to returning.

The 31-year-old wrote: “One day it started well, we were well positioned and then we had a problem. Run. Shit sometimes. Been here many times. We will be back. Until the wheels fall off! FEA. “

Ricciardo will certainly look forward to the upcoming race in the same place in a week’s time. He will learn from his mistakes and try to get a better result for himself and his team from Woking.

The Australian talks about what went wrong at the Red Bull Ring
From qualifying itself, Daniel headed south. He qualified in P13 and although he made up a few places, that luck was short-lived. He suffered a problem with the drive unit, ending up in the same place where he started the Grand Prix.
As quoted by Autosport, the McLaren driver said, “It was disheartening because I had such a great start and obviously had a preferred strategy with the medium. I felt like the cars in front of me would have had problems on the track and we were in a really good position.

“So everything was there before us. And then I lost power, I think I felt it outside of the first lap. And then I got a couple of switches and we could restore it, I think the seventh or eighth.

“But I waved everyone I overtook me on the first lap. So you’re on the train and that’s it, the afternoon is ready, ”concluded the Australian.
The seven-time Grand Prix winner has yet to assert himself in the Papaya team this season, as his best result is P6. Ricciardo is certainly counting the days until the next race and hopes to redeem himself on lap two at the Red Bull Ring.
