The Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda Team had a disappointing qualification on 2021 Spanish Grand Prix In the Barcelona-Catalonia Circuit Circuit. For the first time this season, the Italian team did not have a driver in the final qualifying.
Pierre Gasly finished in the twelfth position and Yuki Tsunoda finished sixteenth on Saturday. Gasly consistently prevailed in qualifying and made it to the last qualifying session (Q3). Tsunofa, on the other hand, struggled to get out of the first session (Q1).

Nevertheless, we will collect points tomorrow and start in P12 with a free choice of tires, which will hopefully give us a slight advantage in the race. “
Yuki Tsunoda – “It’s frustrating for me, the performance in the car is definitely there”
Yuki Tsunoda struggled to match Gasly’s performance on points in his debut race. The Japanese driver also complained and was furious on the team radio. The rookie driver has to learn a lot in Formula 1 in order to use his talent.
Tsunoda said after a disappointing qualification: “It’s frustrating for me, the performance in the car is definitely there and I think we should make it to the second quarter easily, but I just couldn’t get hold of it today.
“Pierre and I have very different feedback on the car, even if we have the same setup. So I need to understand whether this is due to the characteristics of the vehicle or our different driving styles, and then I can look at the data more closely with my engineers. I think when I find this reason I can really start realizing the car’s full potential. ”
