As the dust finally settles on a lengthy and rather dramatic saga that would’ve undoubtedly had the Formula 1: Drive To Survive producers wetting themselves, newly-signed McLaren Racing rookie Oscar Piastri has found the time for a different kind of contract — this one to join Australian active lifestyle brand Quad Lock as a global ambassador.
“We are thrilled that Oscar will be making his F1 debut next year, and his rise from Melbourne go-karting to the top of the world stage makes him an excellent fit for the Quad Lock ambassador team,” said Quad Lock founder Rob Ward.

“After the past few years, we are focusing on helping our community in both their adventures and everyday life, and can’t think of anyone who embodies the Quad Lock active lifestyle in a more committed way than Oscar Piastri.”
The rise of Quad Lock and Oscar Piastri himself has run parallel to another over the past decade. The former launched its business with a successful online KickStarter campaign back in 2011, the very same year the latter entered his first kart races in Melbourne.
Since then, Quad Lock has achieved global success, selling in more than 100 countries from its Melbourne base, while Piastri has taken the motorsport world by storm; winning the Formula Renault Eurocup, FIA Formula 3 Championship, and FIA Formula 2 Championship in consecutive years before entering the big leagues.

Now, we’ll get a chance to see what the young gun is really made of as he competes against the elite with McLaren Racing alongside yet another name touted as the future of F1, Lando Norris, in place of outgoing compatriot Daniel Ricciardo.
“Competing in Formula 1 is a huge commitment with 24 races scheduled next year around the globe,” said Oscar Piastri.
“And Quad Lock will ensure I remain connected to my activities outside of driving a Formula 1 car, whether that be training, traveling to events, or keeping in touch with family and friends on the move.”
Currently, Quad Lock represents just one of three brands Oscar Piastri is professionally associated with as an F1 driver next to HPtuners and THG. No doubt there’ll be plenty more on the horizon.
As for the 2023 FIA Formula 1 Championship, it’s scheduled to kick off with pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit (February 23rd to 25th) before the opening race, which will be hosted at the exact same venue.
