One-of-a-kind McLaren Albert Speedtail unveiled

McLaren has introduced a one-of-a-kind Speedtail, the McLaren Albert Speedtail, the car was built by McLaren Special Operations.

According to MSO, the car has one of the most complicated paint jobs to date, and it took 12 weeks to paint the exterior.

This is one of the last McLaren Speedtail cars, only 106 cars will be built and it has an interesting paint job and design.

The new ‘Albert’ was built in the McLaren Production Center (MPC) with a 1K glossy visual carbon body. Due to the incredibly complex and detailed nature of the paint design, the MSO team first made test panels to understand the feasibility of the process and worked with the visualizer team to refine the renderings. Overall, it would take ‘Albert’ a 12 week post-build remodel at MSO’s facility to reach completion; this included two weeks of masking, six weeks of painting and the remaining time to dry and assemble the vehicle after spraying.
