Norris wants to leave the “disappointing weekend in Belgium” behind at Zandvoort

Norris wants to leave the "disappointing weekend in Belgium" behind at Zandvoort

Lando Norris want the disappointment of Belgian Grand Prix if formula 1 makes his race back in the Zandvoort race track in The Netherlands this weekend.

the McLaren F1 team Driver seemed like the man to beat in wet qualifying Spa Francorchamps last Saturday, but a serious crash in difficult conditions in Raidillon left him with a starting penalty of five places for changing gear and outside the top ten.

With the ensuing race being a wash-out and only a few laps behind the safety car before the result was announced, Norris had no chance of improving the order and ended up out of points for the second consecutive race weekend.

But after leaving that behind, Norris is looking forward to getting back on track for the first time Grand Prix of Holland since 1985 this weekend, with the Briton hoping for a strong start to the weekend.

“After a disappointing weekend in Belgium, I’m looking forward to getting back on track this weekend and hopefully giving the fans more show,” said Norris. “Zandvoort is a cool track that I drove on – and won – in Formula 3 in 2017.

“The track has changed quite a bit since then, with new corners that could change the course of the race. I was actually back in Great Britain this week to drive the track in the simulator so that we can be ready to go on Friday when we hit the track. “

“Last weekend I didn’t expect to celebrate my 200th GP” – Daniel Ricciardo

Teammate Daniel Ricciardo hoped his 200th Grand Prix would be more memorable than it was, despite the Australian securing his best ever result of his McLaren career.

Ricciardo took an excellent fourth place on the grid at Spa-Francorchamps and landed in the same position due to the lack of a green flag. He got six points thanks to the half point allocation, which kept him eighth in the overall standings, just two points ahead Pierre Gasly.

Hoping to take the momentum from his brilliant qualifying performance last weekend into this weekend’s Dutch race, the Australian wants to add some decent points to his record on Sunday afternoon.

“Last weekend I wasn’t expecting to celebrate my 200th GP and it’s a real shame the fans didn’t see a real race,” said Ricciardo. “Fortunately, that doesn’t happen very often in Formula 1 and we’re back at Zandvoort this weekend.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been there and I’m really excited to be back. The fans there are very enthusiastic and I can feel a lot of Dutch support. Hopefully we can take the positive momentum from qualifying in Spa with us and score decent points. “
