Earlier, the Petty GMS Racing team announced that Noah Gragson will move up to the Cup Series with them. However, this does leave a vacant seat at Dale Earnhardt Jr’s JR Motorsports team. It appears that Truck Series driver Carson Hocevar is the favorite for the seat. Recently though, the 19-year-old sent out a few cryptic tweets, one featuring three dots, colored blue, black and orange.

Naturally, this sent social media into a bit of a frenzy as they tried to dissect the tweets. Especially since he sent out another tweet featuring a chess-themed GIF. He even replied to the news of Gragson joining Petty GMS Racing, joking that he was waiting for a statement from the McLaren F1 team.

Many joked that it was confirmation that he was throwing his hat into the McLaren ring. Suffice to say, the Formula One Silly Season is getting extremely chaotic. The McLaren and the Alpine F1 teams are at the forefront of this drama, with a host of drivers on their shopping list.

All jokes aside, it is almost obvious that Carson Hocevar will move up to the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports. Though if we’re being honest, its not exactly a done deal and we will have to wait until official statements from all parties. If the Oscar Piastri saga has taught us one this, it is that news must be confirmed by everyone involved. Alpine made that mistake when they tried to hurriedly replace Fernando Alonso without Piastri’s approval.

However, if the Hocevar to JR Motorsports rumors have any merit, then it will be a great signing. The teenager is undoubtedly talented and will be a huge asset to Dale Earnhardt Jr’s team. When he does join, he will link up with the likes of Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, and Josh Berry.
