“I think the track is a lot of fun. It’s a demanding track, but that makes it really exciting. It has good flow, good grip, so I’m happy with the layout. I think it’s also very different from what we’ve already experienced so it’s always fun.
“I think we have a bit more to show in terms of pace and I am confident that we will make it. I look at our competitors and they look pretty fast today, but I think we can keep up. So I’m optimistic about tomorrow and since it’s a new track I’m sure there will be a small improvement. There are still a few corners where I can find a little time. So we’ll stay tuned. “

LANDO NORRIS, # 4
FP1 | 1m31,029s (+ 1,243s) | 23 rounds | 13th |
FP2 | 1m30.004s (+ 0.986s) | 19 rounds | 12th |
“A fun but difficult first day! Fun because it’s a new track, a new challenge and exciting to get out and feel the track. Definitely one of the trickier ones to put it all together and get the accuracy needed to get close to the To be stretched to the walls – but not too close of course. It’s been a difficult day because so far it has been a challenge to find a good balance with the car, so we have a lot to do tonight to try to do a little better for tomorrow. The confidence is there – at least I’m confident of pushing the car, but we just have to put it in a better window. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow. “

ANDREA STELLA, Managing Director, Racing
“The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a really interesting track. According to Lando and Daniel, it is a lot of fun to drive – but it also offers real challenges when it comes to setting up the vehicle. We had a good day with clean sessions and were able to explore our setup options and at the same time get to know the tires on this surface, which is unusually grippy for a street circuit.
“If we look at the times, we see that the midfield, like in the second half of the season, is very compact. Some of our competitors look really fast and we have to do our best to understand what we have learned in practice, to bring it all together and put ourselves in a strong position to qualify well and to get good points . “
