Formula 1 has announced the racing calendar for the 2022 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. A record-breaking 23-race schedule includes the first Miami Grand Prix and the return of the Australian, Canada, Singapore and Japan Grand Prix – all of which have been canceled for two seasons due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The F1 Sprint format, presented for the first time this year, with qualifying on Friday, sprint qualifying on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday, should make up at least a third of the 2022 calendar.
As in 2021, the season starts on March 20th in Bahrain. The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix is the second stop on the calendar, followed by the Australian and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in April.
After the Miami Grand Prix on May 8, there was a double victory between Spain and Monaco. The Grand Prix of Azerbaijan and Canada formed another double victory in June before the Grand Prix of Great Britain on July 3rd, followed by races in Austria and France.
The Hungarian and Belgian Grand Prix will end the summer break on July 31 and August 28, respectively. As in 2021, the Grands Prix of Belgium, Holland and Italy form a triple header, followed by a Grand Prix of Russia, Singapore and Japan.
Formula 1 will return to America in October for the United States Grand Prix before heading south for races in Mexico and Brazil, while the season will reach its earliest conclusion in nearly a decade when it closes on Aug.
