“It was a good day of testing at the end of the 2021 season. It was really useful to have some time on the track on the 2022 tire. We managed to learn a lot and collect a lot of data that will be useful for the next season. We still have a lot to learn before racing next year, but we’re in a good place. Now I’m looking forward to coming home, meeting the family and taking some time off before we get back in the car in February. ”
PATO O’WARD, # 28
“Today was great! The car exceeded my expectations for its performance – it’s ridiculous how much grip there is in the fast corners – it’s incredible. Of course, my head was still on my neck that morning. But towards the end of the day, I really think that what was preventing me from going faster was just not being able to hold my head up and see completely where I was going. My head was actually only looking down because I couldn’t hold it! It’s such a great car. What a great experience, I didn’t want the day to end. I would like to thank Zak, Andreas and everyone in the F1 team for supporting me on this incredible day. “

“A very productive day. We split the cars, of course, with Daniel working on the 2022 tires and Pato being behind the wheel in a McLaren Formula 1 for the first time and driving the 2021 car. It was very useful and interesting to test the 2022 tires, with a lot of learning. We will check this data overnight and thus prepare the second day as thoroughly as possible, tomorrow with Lando at the wheel. We were very impressed with Pato’s speed, attitude and how fast he learns. We look forward to another productive day tomorrow before this long season comes to an end. ”
