McLaren plans to launch its 2023 Formula 1 season on February 13.
The team will be hoping to reverse the trend of its decline in recent seasons with its new car, the MCL37, having followed up its third-place finish in the 2020 constructors’ championship with fourth in 2021 and fifth last year.
It will be Oscar Piastri’s first season with the team as he replaces Daniel Ricciardo alongside Lando Norris. Piastri will be Norris’s third team-mate in five seasons at the team, having raced alongside Carlos Sainz in 2019 and 2020.
There will also be a new team principal for the team in 2023 with Andrea Stella replacing the Sauber-bound Andreas Seidl.
McLaren has not revealed whether its new car will be fully on show during the launch or if it will use a show car.
Four other teams – AlphaTauri, Alpine, Aston Martin (which like McLaren will launch its season on February 13) and Ferrari – have already revealed launch dates.
