As one of the most iconic supercars the world has ever seen, the McLaren F1 holds a special place in the hearts of most enthusiasts with its stunning looks and overwhelming performance.
Given that the F1 was built as the toughest street car of its day, there was no interest in cutting off the top and selling it in roadster form, but recent renders show what could have been.

Rendered by LMM Design, these recordings look far too real and look like from a magazine from the nineties. Even the gorgeous purple hue looks perfectly contemporary.
While the front has remained untouched, the changes begin with the doors, with the windows fully retracted. In the original car, the windows could not be fully retracted due to the complex butterfly doors.
Interestingly, the scoop was moved from the (nonexistent) roof and placed between the seats. Thanks to its protruding nature, it looks a bit like a cannon here, but it’s still cool.
As with most supercar roadsters, there is a pair of gondolas behind each headrest, and behind the air intake sits a clear section of material that exposes the bare carbon fiber tubes.
Although it looks like a two-seater, the F1 roadster has retained its three-seat configuration, with the driver sitting between the two passenger seats.
While it misses the purpose of being a hardcore racing car, it’s interesting to see what could have been if McLaren wanted the F1 to appeal to Hollywood’s rich and famous.
