According to their official website, this paint job is part of the Driven For Change collaboration with their partner Vuse. The bespoke design is courtesy of Rabab Tantawy. She is an aspiring artist from the United Arab Emirates who has worked with McLaren’s automotive media designer.

Claire Cronin, UK team’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “Driven by Change is a unique opportunity to leverage our global stage to support emerging talent and give undiscovered creatives the platform they deserve.”

“Rabab’s art is inspiring and we’re proud to be racing your papaya-influenced creation this weekend.”

Driver Daniel Ricciardo took a look at the new design and gave his strong approval. He said, “This is great. I like it a lot, it also mixes. It’s kind of an evolution of what we’re already doing. It actually leads to the exhaust, that’s cool, I like that a lot. “

Whether McLaren’s result under the lights in Abu Dhabi will eclipse Ferrari in the championship is uncertain for the time being. What is certain, however, is the beauty of the MCL35M’s unique paint job compared to the rest of the grid.
