Daniel Ricciardo made a name for himself thanks to his entertaining antics in the paddock. He is also known as the person who gives trouble to his bosses by making bets with them. Last year he made a bet with his former team boss Cyril Abiteboul. The bet was that if Ricciardo got Renault on the podium, Cyril would get a tattoo of Ricciardo’s choice. Unfortunately, Cyril has not yet kept his promise.

But now Ricciardo has made another bet with his new boss, Zak Brown – and he won it too!

Daniel Ricciardo and his wild bets
Zak is afraid of needles, so tattoos were out of the question. But one thing Zak has is an enviable collection of cars. So the new bet Ricciardo made was that if he took a podium for McLaren, he would be allowed to drive in a car driven by Ricciardo’s racing hero Dale Earnheardt.
At the season opener in Bahrain, Zak Brown gave Ricciardo a scaled-down model of Dale Earnhardt’s No 3 Chevrolet. Zak Brown happens to have the Dale Earnheart car in his insane collection. And he has promised that if Ricciardo manages to get a podium spot, he will give him the opportunity to drive the real car.
The McLaren team posted a video on social media capturing the moment Zak donated the model of the # 3 Chevrolet to Ricciardo, and Ricciardo smiled ear to ear when he asked Zak if he could seriously keep the model .

So far, Ricciardo has managed not only to give McLaren a podium, but also their first win in 9 years when he showed way more than expected, taking a McLaren 1-2 home with Lando Norris as P2.

And Zak Brown proved he was a man who kept his word when Mclaren re-posted the video of the bet and tweeted, “Do you remember that deal? It happens at the USGP “

Zak Brown retweeted the video titled “A deal is a deal”.
