McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S Australian model only revealed

While our very own Daniel Ricciardo basks in the glory of his first Formula 1 victory since 2018 (his first with McLaren F1) – and teammate Lando Norris licks his wounds after robbing his first win in Sochi last weekend – McLaren has Automotive announced a limited series of rides. This is the McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S.

Only three models are produced on behalf of McLaren Special Operations (MSO) in partnership with McLaren Sydney and Melbourne dealers – a direct reference to the Honey Badger’s race number. And to celebrate that sun-scorched country it comes from, they’re also exclusive to Australia.

“Daniel Ricciardo’s relentless determination and pursuit of excellence are qualities that perfectly reflect the McLaren ethos,” said George Briggs, McLaren Commercial Executive Director.

“After McLaren’s outstanding performance with a groundbreaking double victory for the team at the Italian Grand Prix, it is the perfect time to present this limited series in honor of the Australian driver.”

“The 720S is a fitting model to celebrate Daniel’s accomplishments and we’re delighted to have the MSO Australian flag adorned with it.”

“One of the great privileges of driving for McLaren is being behind the wheel of many of the brand’s exciting supercars,” says Danny Ric himself.

“And although everyone offers something unique, the 720S is the absolute benchmark.”

The special features of the McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S include the carbon fiber door sill panels with Ricciardo’s signature, the “One of Three” dedication signs, Ricciardo’s race number “3” on the iconic 720S V-doors and the Australian flag to decorate the Front clubs. Each copy is painted in Papaya Spark and Burton Blue to evoke McLaren’s MCL35M.

The McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S is reportedly set to be available soon, with all three expected to hit showrooms in the fourth quarter of this year, an exact date and local prices yet to be confirmed.

Note: Despite being an Australian exclusivity, for some reason the genius behind the renderings portrayed the 720S as being left-handed. Rest assured, the real deal will be a regular right handed.
