Lando Norris has definitely hit the ground under his feet this season. The young Briton has managed to collect points in every race so far and even take two podiums – one at the Emilia GP and the other at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix, which finished third in each case.

Although he doesn’t have to win his first race just yet, McLaren CEO Zak Brown believes the 21-year-old is as good as anyone on the grid. The former hopes Norris can continue that string of appearances and take the Woking-based team to the next level this year.

As quoted by Motorsport.com, Brown said of how Daniel Ricciardo fits into the team: “He has a teammate who I think is as quick as anyone on the grid. So he has a great bar to play against. “
He further praised the 21-year-old with the words: “Lando has matured very well, he came in as a rookie and drove very well.
“If you look at some of the other newbies who came in, they had a lot of accidents. They showed speed, but they exceeded the limit one time too often. Lando really doesn’t have that. He showed great speed and maturity right from the start.

“Then last year and this year we asked him to actually be a little bit more at the limit, almost to encourage him, it’s okay if you go away every now and then. And what we saw is he got even faster, got his elbows out, but he’s still keeping the car on the track, which is great, ”concluded Brown.

How is Norris doing so far this season?
The young Brit has played a pivotal role in McLaren’s campaign this season. Norris managed to get one point out of all seven races and achieved two podiums in the process. In the drivers’ standings he is now fourth with 76 points.
Now he’s preparing for two consecutive races in Austria, of which Norris earned his very first podium finish in Formula 1 last season – a third place at the 2020 Austrian GP, so he’s hoping to have a similar, if not one, this time get better result.

He got off to a strong start this year and hopes to improve that form over the course of the season.
