In the first stint of the 2021 F1 season, Lando Norris appeared to be the star of the season. Single-handedly, Norris brought McLaren to P3 and even snatched Bottas’ position on the driver’s board, Norris seemed unstoppable. After being in the spotlight for a while, the COTA race was relatively calm for Lando Norris. After the initial battle with Ferrari, Norris retreated into a boring and disappointing race for the British. Despite finishing behind both Ferraris, Norris scored a few crucial points for McLaren.

Before the summer break, Norris was bearing the weight of the Ferrari battle. Now, with Daniel Ricciardo’s resurgence, McLaren is well equipped for the P3 battle. That calms Lando. “In the first half of the season it was difficult to keep Ferrari behind us if he just had to find his pace.”

Norris explains his tough race at COTA and believes the PU could have some answers. “I still drive the old one, that definitely doesn’t help. But I don’t take that as an excuse. “
With engine penalties being a common sight in recent races, Norris has not yet switched to a new PU. When his engine life is running out, it may only be a matter of time before we see Norris at the bottom of the grid. However, since the new Ferrari PUs represent a great advantage for the Prancing Horses, McLaren would have to move soon.
Lando Norris is worried about Ferrari
Even though Ricciardo is now playing an active role in scoring points for his team, didn’t he come into the game a little late? The weekends in Istanbul and the USA were wake-up calls for the team. Ferrari’s upgrades were magical; The red cars are on the tracks with incredible speed.
Not that McLaren wasn’t quick. The papaya cars had incredible speed before the race. However, Ferrari outperformed its rivals, holding back one driver at a time. After a close qualifying with her rivals, Norris foresaw Ferrari’s speed.

“I don’t think we had any hopes yesterday, but they made a good jump from yesterday to today. We were still competitive, we still weren’t bad, but [Ferrari] were just faster. “
Ferrari had licked off its rivals on Sunday, which only exacerbated Norris’ suffering. “Sometimes I thought we had better pace, but when you consider that Charles was 25, 20 seconds or something ahead of Daniel, it shows that she was [Ferrari] were the faster car again today. Disappointing, and we couldn’t do more, but that’s how it is sometimes. “
