“Lando has had an incredible start so far” – McLaren team boss Andreas Seidl was impressed by how his drivers have fared so far.
McLaren faces a close battle with old rivals Ferrari this season. So it is imperative for Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo to get good points and that is exactly what they did.
Happy with the race today! I know it didn’t look that good, but we did everything we can to make it good. Thank you everyone at @ McLarenF1. See you all in Monaco

This impressed boss Andreas Seidl, who doesn’t care about Norris’ result at the Spanish GP when he finished P8. The Briton was otherwise very impressive and is currently in fourth place in the drivers’ standings.
“I don’t think it’s necessary to pick him up. I spoke to him after the race and in the end you have to accept how this weekend went. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to finish any higher in qualifying, even though we had a car with more potential. We all know the circumstances, so it’s important to keep going.
“I think he did what he could do from his side in the race and we did what we could do from the team’s side. It just wasn’t possible to do more than one P8 which has to be accepted. “
“I think you have to look at the positive side too. It is important that on a race weekend where Ferrari was pretty strong and we only lost today, we lost six constructors’ points. Championship.
“Lando has had an incredible start to this season so far, with incredible performances, so there is no need to pick him up. It’s okay and I’m sure he will fight back with us in the next few races. “
