The McLaren-Mercedes MP4-17 that was driven by the Iceman in 2002 is up for auction. With Raikkonen leaving the sport at the end of the season, there is no doubt that avid F1 fans, at least those who can afford it, will be bidding on the iconic car.

The Finn had just signed for the Woking-based team after spending his year as a rookie at Sauber. He and McLaren formed an iconic partnership that none of the championships got their hands on.
Now in 2021, the same McLaren that Kimi was behind the wheel is up for grabs. It is reported that RM Sotheby’s is offering the car for sale in St. Moritz. Allegedly, the car will cost between 1.84 and 2.3 million euros.

It wasn’t the first McLaren to go up for sale
Another iconic partnership the Woking-based team had was with Lewis Hamilton. They recently auctioned his 2010 car, which was put up for sale by RM Sotheby.

The car grossed a whopping £ 4,836,000 on the Silverstone circuit. Seeing how much this car was sold for, McLaren would hope that Kimi’s car could match it or get a better price.
Knowing the team’s history in Formula 1 racing, there could be a serious bidding war to get their hands on the most memorable cars to ever grace an F1 circuit.
