Kevin Magnussen has had a phenomenal start this season after his return to F1. The Dane finished P5 in the first race and also bagged a P9 in the second race at Jeddah. Recently, the McLaren boss Andreas Seidl revealed his desire to have K-Mag driving for Porsche at Le Mans.

The 29-year-old Dane is proving to be a powerful force this season after his excellent performances this season. Even after being absent from F1 for over a year, the Dane didn’t lose his speed, instead got better. In the Jeddah race, he was giving a tough time to the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Andreas Seidl recently revealed that the Dane was on his wish list during Seidl’s time in Le Mans. The current McLaren boss was responsible for Porsche’s success at LeMans in 2015. In that season, he wanted K-Mag to join his Le Mans team and drive in the legendary 24-hour race that season. But the Dane rejected that project for driving in Formula One.
Seidl reports, “Kevin was extremely almost right away, he put in a great test. I would have taken him immediately. But he decided to stay in Formula 1.”
Kevin Magnussen is a huge challenge for young Schumacher
The Haas F1 team looks really strong and they have a good car this season to fight for the mid-field. But the car isn’t the only thing the American team has to fight in the championship. But they also have a strong drivers’ line-up, especially their latest addition, Kevin Magnussen.

The Dane replaced the Russian youngster Nikita Mazepin. Further, K-Mag got little time with the new Haas car. Yet he got points for the American F1 team in both the races this season. Meanwhile, his young teammate Mick Schumacher still can’t shine in the white American car. The young German struggled to finish P11 in the first race and crashed his car into the wall in the Saudi qualifying.

Many F1 experts believe K-Mag is an enormous challenge for young Schumi. Further, the Jeddah accident might result from the pressure Mick is feeling to beat his new teammate. Former F1 driver Christian Danner shared, “It was really a shocking moment. A result of the pressure his new teammate is putting on him. The bar is much higher there.”
