Hennessey's Six-Wheel Electric Car Will Cost $3 Million

Pennzoil and Delta are onboard to help develop the Deep Space’s powertrain, which will include enough batteries to travel around 620 miles on a single charge. This isn’t supposed to be a sports car or a supercar, it’s a luxurious GT. “I kept waiting for battery technology and lighter batteries to come along, but we’re not there yet,” Hennessey explained. “Two-and-a-half years ago, I thought, ‘What if weight isn’t an issue for our first shot at electrification? What if it’s not a hypercar? What if it’s not a sports car?'”

The Deep Space will have a long wheelbase, allowing four passengers to fit comfortably in a diamond arrangement. “It’s not like a Gordon Murray T.50 or a McLaren F1,” he said. “It’s a properly luxurious car where you can completely stretch your legs out if you’re in the passenger seat.”
