GT Sport Daily Races: Orient Express – GTPlanet

GT Sport Daily Races: Orient Express - GTPlanet

Although much of the world is changing their watches this week, the new set of Gran Turismo Sport Daily Races is on time as usual. In the three races this week, the players will tackle two tracks in Japan and will go full throttle in Italy for the next seven days.

For Race A this week, you’ll drive to a fictional circuit made up of real-life sections of Tokyo’s famous C1 loop stitched together to form the Tokyo Expressway. There are several different layouts, with the route chosen this week being the square central course in the regular clockwise outer loop layout.

This time it’s a one-make event where the players drive the Audi TTS Coupé. That makes life easy, because all you have to do is choose a color and then go into the race over five laps on the standard Sports Hard tires.

Things are a little more complex in Race B as you have to choose a Gr.3 car from your stable for the race. That said, you might be forced into one of a very small handful of cars by the nature of the route.

The race takes place on Italy’s famous Monza circuit, but you drive the version that skips the first chicane – Variant del Rettifilo – which ensures very high speeds in the four-lap race. That means you need a Legged Gr.3 car, and it’s no surprise that the McLaren F1 fills much of the leaderboard at this early stage.

Our last race of the week puts the players in the very fast Gr.1 cars, consisting of a mixture of old Group C machines, modern LMP1 / LMP1-H cars and a few fictional vehicles from the LMP1 design and -Specs are inspired.

Ultimate speed won’t be a priority this week as you’ll be doing ten laps of the Suzuka Circuit. This is a highly technical course that cars with more available downforce will likely dominate, although the 7x tire wear multiplier will make the race feel like 70 laps for your rubber.

The fact that there is a mandatory swap makes tires an even more important factor. Players must use both Racing Medium and Racing Soft during the race or face a one-minute penalty in the final scoring. How you use the two connections is of course up to you.

These three races will run until Monday November 8th when another set replaces them.
