Forza Horizon 5 Season Change: Touchdown – GTPlanet

Forza Horizon 5 Season Change: Touchdown - GTPlanet

After seemingly years of waiting, Forza Horizon 5 is finally with us and the first of many monthly playlists starts today.

Series 1, officially titled “The Horizon Festival Has Landed” begins with Mexico’s “Wet Season” – or summer for those of you who are used to the FH4 seasons – and brings the first challenges, missions and tests with some exclusive ones Rewards for Completion Success.

There’s a big change from FH4 as players now get points for their progress. That makes it a little easier to keep track of what you’ve done and what you need to do compared to the percentage system used in the previous game.

It also looks like you don’t have to be too bothered with the various tasks as the most exclusive serial reward will be completed at an equivalent of 72%.

Series 1

That comes in the form of the McLaren F1. Once the fastest car in the world – and still the fastest naturally aspirated car – the McLaren F1 is one of the most sought-after cars of all time at 240 mph.

Despite being nearly 30 years old now, it’s a car that most enthusiasts will agree has never been surpassed as an overall machine. You must collect 180 of the 247 available points over the next four weeks to receive this car symbol.

Slightly easier to acquire, at 120 points, is a car that Mercedes hopes will join the McLaren on this top tier street car list of all time – and it’s one of the cover cars from Forza Horizon 5. The AMG ONE is a vehicle based on the brand’s all-conquering Formula 1 engine, a 1.6-liter hybrid with 1,000 hp.

Mercedes hasn’t built or delivered any of these yet – that should start in mid-2022 – so drive the virtual model before anyone else in the real world.

Your mission to earn points for Series 1 begins with the summer season, which lasts on Thursday, November 18th at 1430 UTC. There are 64 points a week – slightly more than the 61 points in the other seasons – for the various tasks.

challenges

The difference in points available comes from the “Treasure Clue” that FH4 players will recognize as a feature of the Fortune Island DLC expansion. Essentially, you must complete a specific task in order to be rewarded with a clue to the location of a treasure chest – much like finding barn find locations. Find and smash the chest and you will get the reward.

For this week’s Treasure Hunt Challenge, you must get at least two stars from the Heights of Mulege danger sign by using the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray to get the clue. That takes you to the other side of town, where you’ll find the chest and its 50,000 Cr reward – and three points – near some farm tents.

Other challenges this week will give you two points if you finish 30th or better in The Eliminator and reach a speed of 140 mph during any Horizon Open racing event (Xbox Gold is required for both on consoles). Smashing 100 of the Mexican cacti during the week is worth three points.

The last challenge of the week is the Photo Challenge called #NewDigs !. Just take a picture of any car outside the Casa Bella house to receive the two points offered. This should be hard to miss as this is the first house you unlock in Story Mode, and it’s in Mulege too.

Seasonal events

Forza Horizon 5 Season Change: Touchdown – GTPlanet

Most of your points come from the seasonal events, with six points for the three PR stunts, 15 for the various championships, three more for the Playground Games event and ten for The Trial.

Unlike FH4, the seasonal stunts now require special vehicles instead of simply exploring everything in your Koenigsegg. That means you need to be a little more tactical when choosing your car in FH5. You may also need to unlock Horizon Rush to see them.

For this week, the restrictions are on the friendly side. You can use S1 class cars up to 900PI (you can use lower PI cars, but not lower class cars) for the Danger Sign and Drift Zone stunts. The Hillside Drift Zone requires a drift car that should make the 90,000 point marker a breeze, and it’s a retro sports car for the 385m + jump at the Runway Danger Sign.

The speed zone has a few aggravating factors. First, you need an A-Class BMW with up to 800 PI. More difficult is the fact that it’s a dirt speed zone, so you’ll likely need AWD to get your target average speed of 106 mph.

In the three championship races this week you will compete against the AI Drivatars. You have to win each championship against highly skilled drivatars to earn the five available points, and it also offers two hard-to-find cars.

The last four events all require Xbox Gold on the console as you compete with and against other players.

Horizon Tour and Horizon Arcade both offer three points towards completion, with Tour pitting a convoy of players against Drivatars, and Arcade consisting of a variety of games that players can use to work cooperatively towards a goal.

The trial is one of the tougher challenges as you and up to five other riders compete against Drivatars of the “unbeatable” rank and … well, you have to beat them. In these team races, you collect points when you stand in front of competing vehicles, and the results of the two teams are added together in a best-of-three event at the end of each race. You can choose any B-class car in the pickup and 4 × 4 class up to 700 PI for the event and there are ten points to win.

That leaves only Playground Games, in which two teams with up to six players compete against each other in a selection of team games. A best-of-five round of Zombies, King and Flag Rush will crown a winner, but you only need to complete one set to win the three dots and the Quick Draw emote.

Seasonal championship: It’s raining sideways

Forzathon events

Forza Horizon 5 Season Change: Touchdown – GTPlanet

This week’s Forzathon events bring the familiar daily and weekly challenges. For the weekly “A True Super GT” challenge, you’ll need to pick up the 2017 Nissan GT-R. If you drive it a total of 13 miles, the second task will be completed and for the third you will have to take it to whatever danger sign you choose and collect a total of six stars.

After this somewhat violent treatment, the GT-R can be better used for the final challenge, which requires you to achieve two Awesome Drift skills on every street racing event – which means you must have unlocked Horizon Apex. Just take part in any road racing event in the GT-R and let yourself be carried away. Completing this will give you five points and 81 forzathon points.

A slight change to FH4’s Daily Challenges means you now have seven days instead of three days to complete each one. They’re also a little more self-explanatory than before, although only “zoomies” – driving over 250 mph for five seconds in each car – are currently available.

The others will be unlocked one by one over the course of the days. Over The Moon requires you to jump 1,500 feet (457.2 m) in each car, while Crowd Pleaser requires you to complete every showcase. For the Eliminator, all you need to do is complete one Eliminator event (and you can combine this with the two-point Battle Royale challenge), and Wash For 20 Seconds requires a clean round in every Rivals event.

That leaves Blasting Through, in which you have to score nine stars in Trailblazer events, and Bulk Smash, in which you have to break 25 objects in 30 seconds. Again, you could combine this with the Collectibles Challenge.

Finally, there is the monthly rivals event, which gives you four points for each of the four seasons, or a total of 16 points, that month. All you have to do here is drive a clean lap on the Horizon Mexico Circuit in the Mercedes-AMG ONE.

If you work through this list successfully, you will earn the DeLorean DMC-12 for 26 points, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera for 46 points and, importantly, 76 points for your grand total.
