Honda has officially left Formula 1 again. They helped Red Bull and Max Verstappen win the world championship and left the sport. Alpine driver Fernando Alonso praised the Japanese manufacturer’s contribution to the sport.

When they got into the sport in 2015, they teamed up with McLaren in hopes of bringing back the glory days. But it didn’t go according to plan as their partnership failed. Alonso, who drove for McLaren at the time, publicly criticized his engine several times. So it’s nice to see how the two-time world champion appreciates the changed situation at Honda since then.

We still have a very good relationship: Fernando Alonso
As reported by hu. Motorsport, the Alpine rider, announced that Honda made some key changes that have enabled them to become world champions. He said that when they left McLaren, they couldn’t even dream of returning to the top of F1.
“When they left McLaren, they obviously weren’t able to dream of a Formula 1 championship. But they did a very good job, hiring the right people, ”said Alonso.

“I think they have changed their management and introduced a new philosophy and done their job well and I am very happy for them. I’ve spoken to Yamamoto at the last 3-4 grand prizes because I have a very good relationship with him. He was the driver of the Honda F1. He was the one who allowed me to test in MotoGP, ”said the two-time world champion.

Despite her bitter past, Alonso mentioned that he still has a good relationship with the manufacturer.
“And we still have a very good relationship. And he was the first one I congratulated Max on the Sunday after boxing. So I’m happy for you. And I am sad that they are leaving now. But hopefully they will return. ”Said the alpine driver.
