Porsche could reportedly enter Formula 1 with the McLaren team in 2026.
According to the major German daily Bild, two Volkswagen carmakers want to get into Formula 1 from 2026.
However, while it was already known that Audi or Porsche could try to build on the future of Red Bull after Honda, other F1 teams could also benefit from it.
“It’s great that big brands are interested in getting into Formula 1,” Toto Wolff was quoted as saying when asked whether Mercedes would welcome more German manufacturers on the grid.

Bild claims a factory VW team is unlikely, with the more likely solution being Audi power for Red Bull, but possibly also the Williams currently Mercedes-powered.
Porsche could meanwhile connect with its historic engine partner McLaren, led by the German team principal Andreas Seidl, who previously led Porsche to success at Le Mans.
Formula 1 changes the engine regulations for 2026 to make engines cheaper, more environmentally friendly, louder and more competitive.
