Transylvania OPEN SECOND ROUND
In today’s newspaper Rob Maul interviewed Ana Bogdan before the game.
The Romanian, who ranks 106th in the world, says Emma Raducanu won all the way from qualifying at the US Open last month, proving to be inspirational to all journeyman and sub-stars.
Bogdan, 28, said: “Somehow in this final I was expecting her to win.
“Because their game is amazing. Your shots are very, very good and deep, strong and powerful.
“She won through the tournament thanks to her attitude and demeanor.
“That smile and that innocence on her face. I really think that was the key.
“In New York, she always had a very positive attitude, no matter what the score. It was there, but always positive. That helped her a lot.
“For me she is an inspiration. I now say everything is possible. “
