The 18-year-old British tennis player Emma Raducanu became the first qualifier in history to reach the final of the US Open. She has received praise from all corners of the world, including seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The young Brit surprised everyone when she announced that her favorite F1 driver was Daniel Ricciardo and not Hamilton.

Raducanu mentioned that she is a huge F1 fan and tries to watch as many races as possible. She also pointed out some similarities between Formula 1 and tennis that, in her opinion, are relatable.

Daniel Ricciardo is my favorite driver !: Emma Raducanu
As reported by Express.Co.UK, the teen sensation stated that they attended the British Grand Prix this year. She also mentioned that she recently started following the sport on a weekly basis.
“When I have the time, I like to watch Formula 1 and watch it week after week. I’ve seen the British Grand Prix and Daniel Ricciardo is my favorite driver! ”Said Raducanu.

When asked why she likes the McLaren driver, she replied:
“There seems to be so much banter with him off the track, and he’s super chilled and relaxed, and I think as soon as he gets in the car he’s really fought over too.”

Emma Raducanu explained that there are some similarities between Formula 1 and tennis. But she also realized that there are some big differences too. She also mentioned that tennis players can learn from F1 drivers too.
“As tennis players, we can learn a lot from their reactions – you have to see everything so quickly because the speeds at which they go are incredible. These reactions and instincts can have a lot to do with tennis, ”said Raducanu.

However, she mentioned that the margin of error in F1 is very different compared to F1.

“The intensity of the focus is also similar and transferable, but tennis is much more luxurious. If you make a mistake it is not the end of the world, but if you make a mistake in Formula 1 you are in the wall, ”said the British player.
