Daniel Ricciardo calls the Conor McGregor fight “the coolest experience” he has ever had

F1 Grand Prix of Italy - Daniel Ricciardo celebrates with his infamous 'Shooey'

Daniel Ricciardo claims taking part in the fight against Conor McGregor was one of the best experiences he has ever had. The Australian driver was sitting right next to McGregor’s family, who were sitting very close to the octagon.

Ricciardo spoke in an interview with MMA journalist Ariel Halwani. He said the Conor McGregor-Chad Mendes fight, which he took part in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, was one of the best sporting events he had ever seen live. The fight was part of the UFC 189 card and took place on July 11, 2015. The special event was the first time the Australian competed in a UFC fight and he says it “spoiled” him. He said to Halwani:

“I think I was spoiled because it was my first ever event. I was sitting right next to McGregor’s family in the MGM. The whole map, I think every fight came to an end. To this day, hand on heart, the best live sporting event I have ever experienced in my life. I went to the superbowl, which was amazing, but honestly I would still call this card the coolest experience I’ve ever had. “

In the fight, Conor McGregor defeated Chad Mendes in the second round by the TKO method.

Daniel Ricciardo thinks he is better than Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton

Daniel Ricciardo has claimed he is a better driver than both Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The Australian said he would leave Formula 1 if he didn’t think he was better than the two world champions.

Speaking to RacingNews365, the McLaren driver said:

“Until the day I quit, I’ll always believe that I’m the best. I think the day I stop will be the day I don’t think I’m the best driver anymore. Is Max the second best? Probably!”

The 32-year-old used to drive alongside Max Verstappen for Red Bull. He remains the only team-mate of Verstappen who was able to beat him in pure pace, with Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly and Sergio Perez lagging behind several times.

There are probably more examples out there if we look for them, but I just got an impromptu impression of us

Baku 2018 with Daniel Ricciardo, Verstappen moves to cover the outside line, realizes that the inside is wide open and cuts it off late and in the braking zone, resulting in a collision

Before working with the Dutchman, Ricciardo played alongside four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. The Australian surpassed the German several times in the 2014 season.

He is ready to get back to his McLaren F1 car later this year, with the entire team’s expectations resting on him and his teammate Lando Norris.
