KOCHI: If you are an F1 fan and have kept your eye on the McLaren F1 Team, you will know that they are now wearing the Gulf Oil colors as a tribute to their legendary association with Gulf Oil International, which has been renewed for this season . The limited edition 720S, which was finished in the same livery, takes the celebration of this merger one step further.

The hand-painted finish took 20 days and the result is simply stunning! The Gulf Oil 702S was developed by McLaren Automotive and pays a fitting tribute to McLaren’s Formula 1 and Can-Am vehicles from 1968-1973 – at a time when Gulf Oil was their main sponsor. The federation continued into the 1990s with the McLaren’s F1 GTRs of the GTC competition team.

In reviving the sponsorship alliance, McLaren has done an excellent job with the 720S, which also includes matching key shells, calipers, a bespoke interior with orange stitching, and Gulf Oil logos embroidered on the headrests and painted on the sills. The steering wheel also gets a nice touch with the center band that also sports the legendary Gulf Oil colors. A limited number of customers have the option to have their McLaren supercars hand-painted by MSO in Gulf Oil livery.

The 720S remains the benchmark supercar. With a McLaren V8 engine with two turbochargers that delivers up to 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque, it can accelerate from a standing start to 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 341 km / h.

Its carbon fiber Monocage II contributes to a class-leading lightest dry weight of 1,283 kg, while the Proactive Chassis Control II suspension and active aerodynamics help unleash this sensational performance both on the road and on the track.
