Could Gordon Murray’s next supercar be called the T.33?

Could Gordon Murray's next supercar be called the T.33?

Gordon Murray Automotive’s second supercar could allegedly be called the T.33.

While the McLaren F1-inspired T.50 has not yet got into customer hands, Murray announced in May that work had begun on a second supercar, which will be cheaper and produced in larger numbers. At the time, he simply referred to the car as Project Two, but just a week after his interview with Evo was published, it was revealed that a trademark application had been filed for T.33.

The application was filed by Gordon Murray Design with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is intended to “cover the categories of vehicles: apparatus for locomotion by land, air, or water; motor land vehicles, automobiles and parts therefor, tires, light metal and composite wheels for automobiles; Bicycles, motorcycles and vans. “

What makes this trademark application particularly interesting is that Murray is only trying to renew the trademark as originally registered for the T.33 trademark in December 2011.

It is understood that Gordon Murray’s second supercar shares its basic drivetrain with the T.50, which uses a Cosworth-developed 3.9 liter naturally aspirated V12 engine coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. In the T.50 this engine has 641 HP and rotates up to 12,100 rpm, whereby it would not be surprising if it were slightly out of tune for use in a new car.

Unfortunately we have to wait quite a long time for this new model to hit the streets.
