the GB3 championship becomes his relationship to the British racing club (BRDC) for the tenth consecutive season in 2022.
The championship is now known as GB3 championship, partner of the BRDC
The BRDC will also extend its support to the new GB3 feeder series, the GB4 championship.
The BRDC and organizer Motorsport vision (MSV) have been working together since GB3’s first season in 2013 since BRDC F4.
Among the notable BRDC members who have gone through the series in its various guises are McLaren F1 team‘S Lando Norris and champion 2014, Williams races driver George Russell, Aston Martin Factory driver Ross Gunn, 2017 Intelligent Money British GT Championship champion Seb Morris and Charlie Robertson.
The BRDC partnership allows GB3 and GB4 drivers to enter the BRDC clubhouse for participants and family members in both championship rounds Silberstein.
GB3 receives professional media coverage from the BRDC, including online and print communication channels.
Each season’s GB3 champion continues to receive the Jim Clark Trophy, presented at the BRDC Annual Awards.
A British GB3 champion is eligible for BRDC SuperStar status, an illustrious list of Callum Ilott, Dan Ticktum and Harry King.
All GB3 cars and racing suits will bear the BRDC logo, as will paddock vehicles, the podium and the championship’s social media profiles.
MSV managing director Jonathan Palmer said: “The BRDC has been inspiring and very active in developing and nurturing young British driver talent for many years.
“The board of directors of the BRDC and I am sure all the members of the club share my enthusiasm to give ambitious, often modestly funded, British drivers the best opportunity to learn, develop, demonstrate and showcase their talents in order to give them the best opportunities to give their ability to achieve goals that can be F1, sports cars or touring cars.
“I am particularly proud of George Russell, who won our BRDC F4 Championship in 2014 and used this platform to support him on his way to becoming an F1 star.
“What is crucial for such drivers are single-seater series that offer powerful, equivalent cars at the lowest cost.
“BRDC F4 did it then, GB3 is doing it now, and our new GB4 championship will open up even more opportunities for riders taking their first steps in the sport.
“I am delighted that the BRDC continues this next chapter with us as we celebrate ten seasons of collaboration in 2022.”
BRDC Vice President Derek Warwick added: “I am delighted that the BRDC will continue to support the GB3 championship in 2022.
“The relationship with MSV has sharpened the talent of so many great drivers, dating back to the original 2013 BRDC F4 championship.
“We’re also excited to extend our support to GB4, a much-needed low-cost single-seater championship for young drivers.
“The key is that it attracts talented young people who would otherwise not be able to afford the step from karting to circuit racing, which is great news for British motorsport.
“I congratulate the MSV and especially Jonathan Palmer on his ongoing commitment to make formula racing affordable for aspiring new racing drivers.”
