2020 Topps Chrome Sapphire Formula 1 gives the major version a different, more limited touch. Available as an exclusive online product, it gives the basic set a familiar, patterned touch. It’s an almost identical approach to several baseball releases in the past and more recently at Garbage Pail Kids and UEFA Soccer.
At its core, 2020 Topps Chrome Sapphire Formula 1 takes the entire 200 card base set and prints it on Sapphire material. Basically it’s a patterned background, similar to what collectors find on many nuclear refractors from Topps or Panini’s Cracked Ice cards.
Additional parallels are available in a variety of colors, but details have not yet been disclosed. They combine with short print variations to get four per Hobbybox, resulting in 1: 2 packs.
Boxes are available exclusively on the Topps website. 582 Montgomery Club members received the first crack on May 4th with an exclusive advance sale. Each member had a limit of one box at a price of $ 99.99. A public sale date was not announced.
