The 2021 United States Grand Prix will take place this Sunday, October 24th, with the promotion taking place since Friday. Several riders opted for new helmet designs for this race en route to the Lone Star State: Texas.
Drivers like Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren-Mercedes) and Mick Schumacher (Haas) all came to the race with helmet designs that celebrate American culture. Did you know that Schumacher’s family run a ranch in Texas?
A few years ago, riders had different helmet designs for each race. However, with cost savings being made across the sport, it was decided that a helmet design would have to be used for the duration of a season. Fortunately, this rule has now been abolished and drivers have more freedom when it comes to their lids.
