“Thanks for reminding me what’s coming!” – Haas F1 team boss Günther Steiner is not in the mood to see his drivers Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher fall at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.
Haas had a decent 2021 season with only one DNF so far for Nikita Mazepin in Bahrain. Considering the resources available to the American team, Mazepin and Mick Schumacher have done well in their battle against the Williams F1 team this season.
“It’s very good to have fans there, at least a small number of them. We are looking forward. “

The legendary road race in Monaco is next, and the outspoken boss Günther Steiner has given a simple instruction – avoid the walls. The idea is to gain as much time as possible to prepare for the 2022 season.
“In Monaco you need a lot of downforce and guess what we don’t have? Lots of downforce! It gets harder that way.
“Regarding the briefing – stay away from the walls and the barriers. We’ll let them know. Once inside the barriers in Monaco, your session is lost. You can’t get the car back and it’s usually pretty damaged anyway.
The challenge is great. It’s a very narrow track, it’s obviously a street track, and a lot of people are watching – anything you don’t want in a race like this. On the other hand, you want it, that’s why we do it.
“The drivers should exert little pressure there because we know our performance. You should watch the race for experience. When they return with a better car, they’ll have learned how to deal with Monaco – which is obviously a very special race on the Formula 1 calendar. “
