As reported by Formula passion, the Haas team boss revealed that the Dutchman made the difference in the title race this season. He believes Max is the driver to beat in 2021.

“I think Max will win the title this year. What if I think Red Bull has the best car? I did not say this. I said that Max is the driver to beat, ”said Steiner.

Günther Steiner mentioned that he and Gene Haas are satisfied with the progress made in developing the car in 2022. He stated that the American team flew to Italy to see the progress of the car and were happy with it.

“I was there with Gene, he wasn’t in Italy for three years, because of COVID-19 he couldn’t come in the last few years, so I showed him around and showed him how we have changed, how we have organized ourselves and how Simone leads the group.
I think He [Gene Haas] was happy with what he saw and he is looking forward to 2022 again as we all are, I think we will be ready. I don’t know where we’ll end up, but we will definitely make progress, ”said Günther.

Haas had decided not to develop its car any further in 2021 and to concentrate entirely on the 2022 season. The 2022 season will be crucial for them as they strive to get back on the grid.
