Last year’s Formula 3 title contender Logan Sargeant will stay in the championship this year after signing a contract for the Charouz Racing System.
The 20-year-old Sargeant battled for the title in 2020 before finishing third just ahead of Prema teammate Oscar Piastri.
The American took three pole positions and two wins during the season.
On Tuesday, Charouz, who ended at the foot of last year’s 10-man championship, confirmed the recruitment of Sargeant and Enzo Fittipaldi alongside Reshad de Gerus.
“At the beginning of this year, I didn’t know if I would ever get into a racing car again,” said Sargeant.
“It was an honor to have this opportunity from Charouz Racing System. I will give everything to move the car forward and keep trying to build within the team. I am looking forward to.”
Fittipaldi, the younger brother of Haas F1-affiliated Pietro, took 15th place in the 2020 overall ranking with HWA Racelab.
“I’m very happy about the chance that team owner Antonin Charouz and team manager Bob Vavřík have given me,” said Fittipaldi.
“It will definitely be a challenge as I didn’t do any of the pre-season tests, but I’ll do my best on this opportunity. I’m looking forward to the first race weekend in Barcelona! “
