Romain Grosjeans R8G Esports manages Ulralkali Haas F1 Esports

Romain Grosjeans R8G Esports manages Ulralkali Haas F1 Esports

Former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean is back with Haas, but this time through the sport.

Romain Grosjean takes another big step into the F1 esports scene as his own team, R8G Esports, will take over the management of the Uralkali Haas F1 team for all of its activities including entering the F1 esports series in 2021. The partnership takes place almost a year after Grosjean founded R8G Esports. Since April 2020, R8G Esports has proven to be a team to be feared with many talented sim racers under its wing.

By 2020, R8G Esports had a total of 45 wins with Grosjean and now has 17 Pro Sim racers under contract. The team also has five junior drivers who all aim to be the next F1 esports stars.

According to Grosjean himself, he is excited to lead the Uralkali Haas F1 team in the upcoming F1 Esports series. Grosjean is also very confident in the team he has built and happy to be able to help Haas, to whom he has been part of the real Formula 1 world for around four years prior to this deal.

“I’ve been in the sport for a year now and I think our team is doing very well,” said Grosjean. “It’s a great story for me to be able to help Haas F1 in this area and to race together.”

Grosjean has ridden a total of 98 Grand Prix races under Haas, starting with the team’s start in 2016. Grosjean ended his time with Haas in Bahrain in 2020 after a serious fall. His years at Haas have certainly created a strong bond that will now live on through sport.

Romain Grosjean and R8G Esports aim to boost Haas’ performance

New faces ready to take over the Haas esport team with the aim of raising the overall level. Haas has finished last in the F1 Esports Pro Series rankings for the past two seasons. However, with the acquisition of R8G Esports, the goal is to continue the upward trend into the 2021 season.

By 2020, Haas was able to increase its points compared to the previous season, but still had a long way to go to get to the top. Only time will tell if Haas can reach the top under the new leadership of R8G Esports, but it will be a big process and not just happen overnight.

Who won the 2020 F1 Esports Series?

Last year’s F1 Esports Series was won by Jarno Opmeer from the Netherlands. The 20-year-old racing driver won the trophy under Red Bull Racing Esports. This is the second year in a row that the team has taken the trophy home. Unlike the previous three championships, the 2020 F1 Esports Series was played online.
