Kimi Raikkonen starts after changing the rear wing from the pit lane at the São Paulo Grand Prix.
From the moment the cars rolled out of the garage for qualifying on Friday, they entered parc fermé conditions, which meant that only the front wing angle and a handful of other minor changes could be made.

However, after Saturday’s sprint, Alfa Romeo changed the rear wing with a different spec part as well as some of the suspension settings on Raikkonen’s car and the Finn was properly penalized with a pit start.
The report of the FIA Technical Delegate read: “The part has been replaced with the consent of the FIA Technical Delegate at the written request of the team concerned in accordance with Article 34.2 of the Formula 1 Sports Regulations 2021.
“Since the above part differs from the one originally used and changes have also been made to the set-up of the chassis (with the consent of the FIA Technical Delegate after a written request), start number 07 should now be requested. Start from the pit lane in accordance with Article 34.8b of the Formula 1 sports regulations 2021. ”
After getting tangled up in the sprint with his team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi, Raikkonen was supposed to start from P18, just ahead of the two Haas drivers from Haas.
