Mick Schumacher more than justified his F1 promotion after winning the 2020 F2 championship. The young German will make his debut for Haas at the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend. As a young Ferrari driver, Mick is expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and drive for Ferrari in the future.
Haas F1, a Ferrari customer team, will be an important platform for the German to prove his skills and learn as much as possible. The head of the American team, Günther Steiner, believes Mick has a long and brilliant F1 career ahead of him.
“But the big result for Mick will be that he learns as much as possible and is ready when our car gets better when his future begins.”

He’s not only here for two years, usually in Formula 2 or Formula 3. He’s here for a long career. The first year in Formula 1 is always difficult when you arrive there, are there immediately and are competitive. The material plays a major role here, ”said Steiner.
Steiner on Mick Schumacher’s expectations
The American team is currently in a catastrophic phase. The problems with the Ferrari engine had a significant impact on Haas, and they went from being a competitive midfield team to just three points ahead of P10 in the championship standings.
Günther Steiner was honest about Haas’ situation and made it clear that they do not expect miracles from the young German.

“Know what kind of material [we have] This year – I don’t want to downplay it now – we decided not to develop this year in order to concentrate fully on the next year.
“That’s why we can’t expect Mick to be P1 or P2 after the first qualifying.” explained Steiner.
Many in the F1 community claim to see Michael Schumacher in Mick. The young German has proven his racing skills through the F2 championship. However, it will be challenging to maneuver your Haas car this season.
Do you think Mick Haas will help get back to midfield? Or will his highly anticipated debut be a flop?
