Miami Grand Prix to parade team principals

Miami Grand Prix to parade team principals

F1’s inaugural Miami Grand Prix is set to introduce a team principal parade as well as the traditional driver display.

All 10 team principals will be shown off to spectators ahead of the grand prix on May 8.

Typically, drivers are paraded around the circuit on either a flat-bed truck or in individual classic cars related to the host country in order for fans to catch a glimpse of their favorites before the barrier of race suits and crash helmets appear.

F1 has seen interest grow in the United States with a record attendance at the US Grand Prix last year. Netflix show Drive to Survive has been credited as a factor for this growth.

In the show, Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has stolen the spotlight from big-name drivers such is his infectious personality.

Another contributing factor could be the public rivalry between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner throughout last year’s championship battle with the war of words often overtaking the headlines of the on-track action.

The first Miami Grand Prix will take place around a purpose-built street track at the Hard Rock Stadium.
