Mercedes postpones Romain Grosjeans test in France
Originally, Grosjean was supposed to conduct the test on June 29, the first date of the French Grand Prix. However, the FIA canceled the Canadian Grand Prix in April due to COVID-19 complications and replaced it with the Turkish Grand Prix.
A few weeks later, they canceled the Turkish Grand Prix due to travel restrictions, causing the calendar to be postponed.
The French Grand Prix was postponed to the coming weekend, with Austria holding successive races to compensate for the cancellations.
Despite these changes, June 29 remained the date for Grosjean’s test with the Silver Arrows. However, the Brackley-based team recently confirmed that the test will be postponed to a later date.

Mercedes owed the postponement of the Frenchman’s test to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements. Her statement read: “We are disappointed to announce that Romain GrosjeanThe Mercedes test has been postponed due to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements.

Mercedes: Working on postponing the test later this summer
Although the Silver Arrows postponed the test, they offered fans a new timeline to work with to conduct the test. In addition, they assured fans that they will continue to work hard to give the former Haas driver his promised test.

“We are determined to give Romain his chance in a Mercedes F1 car and are working on postponing the test later this summer,” added Mercedes.
As the summer break after the Hungarian Grand Prix is scheduled for August 1st, Mercedes hopes to plan the Grosjean test during this period.
