Mazepin welcomes WeRaceAsOne with fundraising campaign for cerebral palsy

Mazepin embraces WeRaceAsOne with cerebral palsy fundraiser

As part of his commitment to the F1 WeRaceAsOne initiative, Nikita Mazepin has started a charity to help children with cerebral palsy in Russia.

Haas driver Mazepin is one of many drivers who missed the “moment” before the race to kneel for something he believes in, apart from Spain, where he recognized Russia’s Victory Day.

At his home Grand Prix in Sochi, Mazepin announced that he would be supporting a cerebral palsy charity.

“Late last year, F1 did a great job opening a campaign called WeRaceAsOne and it’s purpose-driven,” said Mazepin.

“Any driver can help when they sense the problems and needs that they think need to be addressed most urgently.

“One of the things in Russia that I think is pretty big is unfortunately cerebral palsy, which requires an initial education and then the kids need money to do simple things that you and I do in our daily lives without it in To ask a question.

“I started working with this foundation and we made an agreement that I would double all that was received, any funding that was received, by the end of this month.

“This is my first step in helping and giving back to society in this regard, but I am sure there is much more to come. ”

FP3 washout offers Haas visitors a special opportunity

Heavy rain in Sochi forced FP3 to be canceled on Saturday, but Mazepin was able to fill the time by inviting a very special guest to the paddock.

“My little friend Makar and his mom were my guests on the team,” said Mazepin.

“Since we had a lot of free time due to the canceled FP3, I put him in the car.

“The first thing he asked me was, ‘Can you ask people to give me the keys,’ so he was ready to leave.

“He’s a strong boy who trains even more than I do to make sure he’s active and has blood circulating so that at some point he can try to walk.”
