Kevin Magnussen has revealed that there are only two options that would tempt him to return to F1 – Mercedes or Red Bull.
Magnussen drove in Formula 1 for six years between 2014 and 2020, first with McLaren, then after a season on the sidelines for one year with Renault, followed by four years with Haas.

After parting with Haas at the end of last season, the Dane is now driving sports cars in the USA and clinched his first victory with Cadillac Chip Ganassi Racing in Detroit on Saturday.
When asked by Autoweek if he would consider getting back into Formula 1, he said: “If I had a Mercedes or a Red Bull, I wouldn’t say no. I don’t think a lot of racers would do that, but it won’t happen.
“As I said before, I’m very, very happy about the chance I had in Formula 1. Not many people have that many years in Formula 1.
“I’m super happy about that and I’ve had great experiences. Nevertheless, I feel fresh motivation and it’s fun again.”
Magnussen “feels” for Haas
Despite a promising start to his time at Haas, results have dwindled over the past two years with a team that decided to switch drivers by bringing in rookie pairing Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.
The young drivers compete in an uncompetitive car that is not being developed as Haas focuses on the dramatic changes to the regulations for next year.
Magnussen expressed his condolences to everyone at Haas. He said, “I sympathize with you. They are great people. I have a lot of friends and they are kind of family to me, so I feel for them.
“But I’m sure things will be better for them when these new rules come into effect. It will basically reset all teams.”
“Of course it will still be the big teams at the top, but I hope it will be a little closer.”
