News came last Wednesday that some teams were waiting for their cargo to arrive in Brazil. The FIA has now decided that the teams will have more time than usual for the technical inspection of the cars.
According to F1 official rules, this process and associated paperwork should normally be completed no later than 18 hours before the first Friday practice session. Ferrari, McLaren, Haas and Alfa Romeo are said to have been particularly affected by the transport problems.
The FIA has now decided that the teams will be given an additional 15 hours to complete the inspection. The official FIA document states that every participant must complete the first technical check of the cars and submit the declaration at least three hours before the start of FP1.

For some teams until late at night
The adjustment of the rules is intended to ensure that the schedule for the rest of the weekend does not have to be changed. Haas team boss Günther Steiner is quoted on Autosport.com. “The guys just have to work through the night, that’s the only thing you can do,” he says when asked about the solution.
“I don’t know if they have to work through the night, but it will be a late night for sure, and all the rest of the rules have been changed from this morning – the curfew and the acceptance times that existed have all been adjusted,” says Steiner.
