"It's been 84 years"– Haas elated with Mick Schumacher's entry in Q2 during Turkish GP qualifying

“It was 84 years ago” – Haas was overjoyed when Mick Schumacher entered Q2 for the first time in his Formula 1 career.

On the road, Haas is the slowest Formula 1 car this season, as it is the only team that has not scored a point this year. The duo Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher usually start from the bottom row and are usually lapped first.

In Turkey, however, Haas got a little cheer as the team made it into Q2 of a qualifying round for the first time that year, while Schumacher’s first career entry into Q2.

Schumacher was pumped up to his brilliant performance in Q1 and was on cloud nine when he knew he had qualified for the next round.

The German driver’s qualifying campaign came to an end in Q2 because he couldn’t beat a time that would have given him anything better than P14. But this is undoubtedly a start for Haas.

It’s been 84 years

On the other hand, the Haas social media manager shone and celebrated the deed that the entire team had been waiting for for almost a season with a gigantic hint, “It’s been 84 years”.

Haas has only fallen out of favor in the past few years as tight funding and lack of infrastructure meant they lagged behind superior teams. An initially sympathetic team for its underdog story has now disappeared in the shadow of mediocrity.

Although Haas has vowed to step up its efforts for the 2022 season, the new regulations give them the opportunity to take a giant leap in the F1 field.
