MoneyGram Haas F1 Team have now announced the date on which they will unveil the new livery for their 2023 Formula 1 car, the VF-23.
Haas might have been the last team to announce the date on which they will launch their 2023 F1 car, or its livery that is, but they will be the first to do so on January 31, 2023.
The next team to unveil their car will be the 2022 Champions Red Bull racing, their RB19 being launched on February third in a New York-held event.
Going back to Haas, the team has improved in 2022 compared to 2021, finishing eighth in the Constructors’ Championship compared to tenth the year before.
They had a rocky start to the 2022 campaign, as they were banking on the new regulations to take a step forward, but instead had to deal with the spotlight for having Russian driver Nikita Mazepin in their lineup as the Russian war on Ukraine began.
A new name and driver lineup
As such they had to let Mazepin go losing all the funding he brought, but took an inspire decision to bring back Kevin Magnussen, who hit the ground running qualifying seventh and finishing fifth at the 2022 season opener in Bahrain.
Magnussen scored points for the team on five more occasions, but his pole position at the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix remains the highlight of his comeback season.
On the other side of the garage though, Mick Schumacher struggled and was crash prone costing the team valuable money in the times of F1 cost cap, and was shown the door by the end of the season.
So with Nico Hulkenberg replacing Schumacher, the team will start the 2023 F1 season with a revised driver lineup, and they will also have a new name, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, as they have signed MoneyGram as their new Title sponsor.
Exciting day ahead for Haas?
